An Unfinished Munitio
Munitio is the Latin word for defense—this word shows the desire our team has to be a great defensive robot. However Munitio, our 2010 Breakaway robot, is not just a small, maneuverable defense machine.
She serves the defensive side of the competition well: Munitio is equipped with a shield to block balls and two frontal spinning cylinders to allow easy ball control. We also can score using a pneumatics powered kicker.
Despite the lower power provided with the wheels, four mecanum wheels allow Munitio to be extremely maneuverable and give her the ability of strafing. Munitio’s slim design allows her to go under the tunnels, as well as giving her access on the bumps. She can strafe on the bumps as well, giving another strategic advantage. (dubbed the Team 930 Strafe).

Munitio at the Wisconsin Regional
As stated on the history page, Munitio proved to be one of the best defensive robots at the entire competition. Her maneuverability and goal tending helped the B.E.A.R.s advance all the way up to the quarter finals. Munitio continues to be the center of attention at fundraisers and demos. Thanks for a great season, Munitio!
