In the 2009 season, our team did not have a test robot before regionals, Jebadyeah was created between then and nationals. For firmware, that made it very difficult to really test any code until the last week or so of the season which obviously wasn’t good. Therefore, the first thing we did for the 2010 season was get a test bot up and running with the drivetrain that would be on our final robot for the year. Enter Guido. While he looks like a mess of C-Channel, wood, wires, and various parts, the purpose he served was useful beyond all doubt.
Thanks to him, Team 930 was able to have their code almost fully functioning by the time we had our 2010 season robot built. And despite a few crashes (thanks, Jeff), Guido ran well the entire time he was in use. I say “ran” because he has now been stripped for parts and no longer exists, but his memory will remain with us forever.
