In September, I began mentoring the Eagleville Eaglebots FIRST Lego League team. Having never been in Lego League myself, I was a little nervous about mentoring a team. However, with help from another Team 930 mentor who had been involved in FLL and the coaches, I became familiar with the program and began to feel confident helping the kids.

I helped them do the research for their project, and after much time researching, the kids decided to do a skit about the effect of the changing climate on the Mukwonago River. We wrote the skit with each of them being a different organism living in the water, ranging from invasive plants to coldwater trout. After having orgainzed the skit, we concentrated on the robot attachments and programs. We were all extremely suprised and excited when we found out that we had gotten to state. This was a great improvement over the year before, and everyone was happy and proud of the team. During the months that I spent with them, I had a great time with all of the kids and now look forward to mentoring the team again next year.
